My husband and I are doing a fun marriage project this month, and we’d love for you to join us! Whether your marriage is strong already (and you want to keep it going), or whether it’s struggling (and you’re desperate for something to change), this project is for you.
Basically, the challenge goes like this:
Each day, we’ll do one small thing to better our marriage. (And when I say small, I mean small. Sometimes, it’s just sending a text. Other times, it’s saying a prayer. Ninety percent of these things take less than 10 minutes, so even the busiest family can do most of them.)
I’ll post the list of weekly challenges on Monday each week. You can use the list in the order it’s written or rearrange the items to better fit your schedules.
So…are you up for the challenge?
All of the daily ideas come from Roger and Kathi Lipp’s new book called Happy Habits for Every Couple: 21 Days to a Better Relationship. I just finished reading it and HIGHLY recommend you pick up a copy. You’ll get these ideas that I’m sharing every week, but also so much more. Along with the 21 activities, Roger and Kathi also provide date ideas and ways to improve your life in the bedroom (if you know what I mean)!
Ready to get started?
Here are the first 7 challenges.
7 Activities to Better Your Marriage (Week 1):
- Give each other 30 minutes of time to do whatever he or she wishes to do.
- Hubbies, pick out a card for your wife and leave it for her someplace creative.
- On a sheet of paper, write the answers to the following questions. Then give your answers to your spouse so he/she knows more about you. (Important dates (birthday, anniversary, etc.)? Favorite food? Favorite restaurant? Favorite dinner? Favorite flowers? Favorite perfume/cologne? Favorite music artist? Favorite author/magazine? Favorite clothing store? Shoe/Clothing sizes? Favorite Starbucks treat? Favorite treat?
- Wives, bake (or buy) your husband his favorite treat.
- Cook a meal together.
- Exercise together.
- Ask your spouse what he/she would like you pray about, and then pray for him/her throughout the day.
Like I said, totally do-able!
If you’re going to join the 21 day challenge, please leave a comment here telling us you’re in!
*Like I said above, each of the ideas I’m sharing in this series are from this new book. Pick up a copy today!
