I used to think the only way God could redeem a situation was by fixing it.
Infertility…He would redeem by providing a child.
Cancer…He would redeem by healing it.
A broken marriage…He would redeem by reuniting the couple.
But I’m learning (slowly) that sometimes, God’s redeeming word doesn’t mean He fixes what’s wrong.
Sometimes, of course, it does. And when those miracles happen, they are definitely worth celebrating.
But other times, God doesn’t fix everything that’s broken. Instead, he brings redemption in other ways. He uses those of us who might not have gotten our miraculous healing to show the world what it means to be unbeaten.
Being unbeaten doesn’t mean you’re not still hurting.
Being unbeaten doesn’t mean God has made everything right in your corner of the world.
Instead, being unbeaten means that no matter what Satan throws at you, you will not stop fighting.
If God chooses to fix what’s broken, you will praise Him. But you will praise Him, too, even if He does not.
I wrote a book that is coming out in April of this year called Unbeaten: How Biblical Heroes Rose Above Their Pain (and you can too).
This book is full of biblical heroes who faced incredibly difficult times. I shared their stories because I know from experience the hope they can provide. I also sprinkled throughout the book the stories of others (those living today) who have emerged from trials unbeaten.
The truth is, though, there are many, many stories I wasn’t able to include in the book.
SO…for the next few weeks, I’m going to share their stories…
Real Stories of the Unbeaten – A BLOG SERIES COMING NEXT WEEK!
In this series, I’m going to open my blog up to people who are living, breathing examples of the UNBEATEN!
Check back next week for the first Real Story of the Unbeaten!
So looking forward to this !
Yah! Thank you! I’m going to have some great guests on the blog 🙂
